The extreme poverty which surrounds the daily lives of many communities within Northern Thailand makes this area fertile ground for those looking to trafficking women and children. In these isolated and disempowered conditions, people are often unaware of their rights, particularly the right of every child to grow up in a happy and safe environment.
The programs run by COSA, aim to encourage, youth and community empowerment, resources, sustainable living and educating about the risks of leaving one's community to work.
At COSA we believe that the best way of learning is by experiencing the world and working together to create change. Whether it be singing around a camp fire, exploring in the bush, growing vegetables, reading a book or quietly meditating under a tree, people are encouraged to come together and learn about their environment, social challenges, personal issues and gain inspiration for the future.
Holistic learning lies at the centre point of the programs run by COSA, providing information, skills and training to children and young people within the community. COSA provides a space and opportunity for teaching, learning and sharing. Encouraging people to come together and share their skills, talents and passions, in a space where all of us are teachers and all of us are learners.
